The Government of Indonesia will hold the ASEAN-Indo Pacific Forum (AIPF): Implementation of the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific, a flagship event of Indonesia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2023, on 5-6 September 2023 at the Mulia Hotel, Jakarta.
The forum will be held in parallel with the 43rd ASEAN Summit and the East Asia Summit. The opening ceremony will be attended by the President of the Republic of Indonesia and Leaders of ASEAN Member States.
This inaugural forum aims to build stronger and more inclusive cooperation and collaboration between ASEAN Member States and partners in the Indo-Pacific region, establishing ASEAN as an epicentrum of growth.
The AIPF also serves as a platform for public, state-owned enterprises, and private sectors of ASEAN Member States, and ASEAN’s external partners to engage in constructive discussions, cooperate on concrete projects, and enhance collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region.
The AIPF will focus on three issues of common interest, namely green infrastructure and resilient supply chains, digital transformation and creative economy, as well as sustainable and innovative financing.
Some Heads of State/Government will deliver keynote address at this event. Various panel discussions and talk shows will host captains of industry and executives, as well as experts. Project exhibitions and business matching meetings will also be part of the AIPF series of events.
The two-day event will also be attended by representatives of international financial institutions and international organizations.
The AIPF is held as an implementation of the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP), adopted in 2019 by ASEAN Member States. The Outlook is an initiative that seeks to reinforce an inclusive regional architecture. It is also intended to enhance collaboration instead of rivalry, promote win-win cooperation, and provide new opportunities offered in the Indo-Pacific region.
The AIPF is expected to bring the Indo-Pacific region to become a more integrated and interconnected region through inclusive collaboration. This in turn, would contribute to maintaining peace, security, stability and prosperity in the region.
